For more than 20 years, NCOBS has partnered with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools to recruit a group of students that represent the diversity of their community for the Charlotte Unity Project. Unity students participate in a wilderness expedition where they build technical skills, engage in meaningful discussions, and learn the values of courage and compassion. Upon returning home, they form Unity Clubs at their schools where they implement projects addressing issues that affect their community.
