About this Event
Charlie Maples is a genre-blending ensemble born from a spontaneous creative gathering in East Tennessee during the fall of 2020. What began as musicians coming together in a living room quickly evolved into a richly layered collaboration built on songwriting, arrangement, and deep musical chemistry.
Fronted by singer, arranger, and songwriter Erin Dalton, whose arranging work includes collaborations with Amythyst Kiah and Bill & The Belles, the group features drummer Andrew Gibbens, electric pianist and vocalist Isaac Ratliff, bassist and multi-instrumentalist Taylor Green, and a rotating collective of seasoned collaborators. Each member brings decades of performance, touring, composing, and recording experience across jazz, classical, folk, hip-hop, R&B, old-time, rock, and ambient music.
Charlie Maples draws inspiration from classic jazz catalogs, the soulful pulse of rhythm and blues, and the smooth sophistication reminiscent of artists like Michael McDonald. Their performances blend tight musicianship, rich harmonies, and a relaxed, groove-driven atmosphere that invites audiences into a warm and expressive musical space.
Join Charlie Maples at The Cardinal Music Hall on June 5 for an evening of genre-crossing musicianship rooted in East Tennessee creativity and collaboration.
