This is a Spring Bank Holiday walk of about 11 miles starting Charing, which lies close to Ashford at the foot of the North Downs. Our route heads out across the Gallops to join the North Downs Way (NDW), which also forms part of the ancient Pilgrim's Way. We follow the NDW beyond Cobham Farm, before turning north on a byway to soon reach Waterditch Lane. Our circuit meanders over to Bunce Court Road, to make progress over to Hall's Place and onward to Stalisfield Green, before heading across to the church, situated next to Court Lodge Farm.
After our picnic lunch stop on the first leg of this walk, we head south where we can enjoy a pit stop at the Bowl Inn. Suitably refreshed we drop back down passing Charing Windmill to rejoin the Pilgrim's Way before the finish.
