This 2 day class brings Blacksmithing and Woodworking together. We team up with Soulcraft to make a Charcuterie or Serving trayAbout this Event
Join us for an epic 2-day class that brings together the woodshop and the blacksmith shop! Students will craft a custom charcuterie board or serving tray and forge their own steel handles to go with it.
Schedule
Class Time: 12:00pm–4:00pm each day
Location: The Urban Forge / Soulcraft Maker Space, near downtown Cleveland
Note: If your child is attending, we ask that a parent remain on-site for the entire class.
Day 1: Woodshop + Blacksmithing Basics
- Learn the fundamentals of woodworking and shop safety.
- Begin building your serving tray with a wood glue-up.
- While the tray sets, head over to the blacksmith shop with The Urban Forge to start forging custom handles.
Day 2: Shaping, Sanding & Finishing
- Return to the woodshop to cut, sand, and finish the tray.
- Head back to the forge to complete the handles and mount them to your tray.
- Leave with a handmade piece your family will be proud of—functional, beautiful, and entirely crafted by you!
Customization & Group Options
This class can also be customized for Scout troops, youth groups, or private group sessions.
