About this Event
This workshop is inspired by filmmaker and Filmshop member Patrice D. Bowman's video/photo exhibition "Artists' Ways."
The exhibit is on view at the Filmshop House (4B) until August 31; Saturdays and Sunday only, 11am - 5pm.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, Bowman will guide attendees how to take dynamic and creative portraits of subjects. Cameras won't be provided; please bring your digital device (phone cameras count). Exernal flash recommended. Limited to 20 people. Willing attendees will be asked to act as models and will recieve photos after the shoot.
Cost: Free, but donations are highly appreciated; please support the artist.
About the artist: Patrice D. Bowman is a Queens-based award-winning filmmaker, educator, and photographer. Her short films have screened nationwide, including at the Academy Award-qualifying Reel Sisters of the Diaspora Film Festival & Lecture Series. When she's not working on videos, she's engaged in event, street, and portrait photography. She graduated with a B.A. in Film Studies from Yale College in 2015.
