We are excited to invite you to the Chappy Motorcycle Ride for Suicide Prevention 2026, an annual event honoring the life and legacy of local firefighter Micheal “Chappy” Chapman. The Chappy Ride is more than a fundraiser; it is a powerful day of remembrance and unity. Just like last year, we will start off the day with a mental health speaker, kickstands up at noon, ride along the route, to end up at Trish’s for some community dinner featuring live music and conversation.
We are honored to continue our partnership with American Legion - Post 11 and Trish’s Redbird Cafe for the start and end of our ride. We are looking to introduce some new stops along the route this year with Scotty Blackwell from Pipe Hitters Union MC - Spartans as our renewed ride leader.
This event focuses on suicide prevention and raising awareness for mental health while bringing together riders, families, and community members to celebrate hope, connection, and healing. Funds raised directly support NAMI’s free mental health programs, ensuring individuals and families in Greater Lafayette continue to have access to support groups, educational classes, crisis resources, and community outreach when they need it most.
