The Beaches Museum Concert Series will continue it’s 2024 concert schedule with Walter Parks on Tuesday, December 10th at 7:00 p.m.Walter Parks, long-time guitarist and sideman for Woodstock legend Richie Havens reunites with the original Swamp Cabbage cast – Matt Lindsey on bass and Jagoda on drums. An old-school deep-south trio reformed, Walter Parks with Swamp Cabbage toggles between hollers, spirituals, Appalachian reels, Delta blues, work songs, swamp jazz and even bits of opera all delivered with a northeast Florida swampy feel, presenting historic music, original music and stories that preface songs in a contemporary way. Walter was recently invited by The Library of Congress/American Folklife Collection to archive his research work on the music made in southeast Georgia’s Okefinokee Swamp.
The series, now in its 10th year, has featured a wide variety of musical genres, nationally and internationally known artists, and award-winning music. The Chapel Concerts benefit the Beaches Museum.
Check-in and refreshments begin at 6:30 p.m. and the show will start at 7:00 p.m. No physical tickets will be issued but your name will be on the list at check-in. Thank you for your support!
