The 2026 Maryland General Assembly passed major laws affecting Black Baltimore — on voting rights, juvenile justice, housing, immigration, and reparations. Now it's time to bring that conversation home.
Chaos or Community: A Political Conversation is a live, community-centered political forum hosted by BMORENews.com and the Thurgood Marshall Amenity Center. Hear directly from candidates running for Sheriff of Baltimore City, State Senate (41st District), and House of Delegates (40th and 45th Districts) — then hold them accountable on the issues that matter most.
We're talking about Baltimore Collegiate and who controls our children's education, appraisal bias and Black homeownership, the Maryland Voting Rights Act, new limits on charging youth as adults, the failed Clean Slate Act, and what reparations actually looks like in practice.
Moderating the conversation is an all-star panel: Tonya Bana, Esquire, attorney and community advocate; Jason Rodriguez, Radio One; John Rydell, veteran Maryland journalist; and media personality Marc Clarke.
This is not a lecture. This is a conversation — with community leaders, candidates, media, and residents all in one room.
