About this Event
During ATX's spring festival season 2025, the Alliance for Women Film Composers , All Entertainment Business, Film Fatales, and Women in Film & TV Austin are co-hosting a dynamic event that celebrates collaboration, inclusion, and progress in the entertainment industry. The gathering will bring together producers, directors, composers, music supervisors, investors, and business leaders to foster meaningful connections and promote gender parity across creative and business sectors.
This event is for everyone who values innovation, collaboration, and access to top-tier talent. We all play a critical role in shaping a more inclusive entertainment industry, and this is a unique opportunity to connect with diverse voices and expand your network. Despite making up nearly half of film school graduates, women hold less than 20% of key behind-the-scenes roles in top-grossing films and account for only 7% of composers in film and television, and only 6% of directors. Organizations like AWFC, Film Fatales, and AEB are working to change this narrative by providing mentorship, resources, and platforms that empower underrepresented voices. A key focus of this event will be showcasing resources to help attendees identify and connect with qualified gender diverse talent, enabling industry professionals to hire inclusively and build diverse teams that enhance creativity and innovation.
Sponsored by ShotDeck with beverages from Tequila 512 and Good Night Loving Vodka.

Why Now
With the current underrepresentation of women, trans and non-binary creatives across technical and craft categories - from directors to composers, cinematographers to producers - our collective goal with this event is to carve out and occupy shared space. As the spring festival season is underway, this event will highlight talented members across our organizations for an evening of professional and social connections.
The program will feature engaging panels, networking opportunities, and creative entertainment moments designed to inspire action and collaboration. Our focus is to shine a light on some of the amazing projects and their creators from this year as we come together for a night of industry conversation and networking with professional filmmakers, crew, and influential industry decision-makers.

The Alliance For Women Film Composers is a community of composers and colleagues who strive to support and celebrate the work of women and non-binary composers through advocacy and education. This visibility is important to herald in equality amongst our industry and bring diverse voices to film, television, video games and multimedia projects globally. We are proud to host the first ever directory of women film composers allowing filmmakers and decision makers the opportunity to discover new talent.
