Featured House
Maison Louis Roederer — A Champagne Apart
Founded in 1776, is one of the last great independent, family-owned Champagne houses, a rarity in a region dominated by conglomerates. This independence is not cosmetic: it defines everything Roederer does.
Unlike most Champagne houses, Roederer owns over 240 hectares of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, representing roughly 70% of its grape supply. This allows the house to farm with an almost Burgundian mindset: precision, terroir expression, and long-term stewardship over short-term yield.
Roederer is also a pioneer of sustainable and biodynamic viticulture in Champagne, with a growing portion of its vineyards farmed biodynamically—an approach focused on soil vitality, energy balance, and expressing the true voice of place.
