What will the event cover?
- The Business School at Cardiff University will be presenting two key opportunities for charities: Insights and Live Business Projects:
Their Insights programme offers flexible, unpaid work experiences for students during term time. These short-term collaborations allow charities to benefit from fresh perspectives while providing students valuable industry exposure.
The Live Business Projects involve MBA and MSc students addressing real business challenges over an 8-week period. These projects offer charities a cost-effective way to obtain high-quality work, supported by faculty mentors.
- Paul Stepczak from Cwmpas will be covering The Future of Funding:
The funding landscape is changing. Opportunities are reducing, becoming more competitive, and specialist. This session will look at alternative income streams for third sector groups to help navigate away from a reliance on grant funding. In particular: -Funding landscape right now, how to identify possibilities for income generation, how to make digital fundraising work for you, and effective tools for your fundraising strategy

Paul Stepczak is the Business Growth Consultant at Cwmpas. His role involves writing and coordinating the organisation’s tender and grant applications and coaching clients on fundraising. Paul has over 20 years experience of grant and tender writing, having previously worked for Glyncoch Community Regeneration Limited, Oxfam Cymru, Neath Port Talbot Community Voluntary Council, and founding two consultancy businesses, specialising in community engagement.
