About this Event
This hands-on baking class centers on a dough with deep history, versatility, and serious bragging rights. Based on Omega Bakery’s award-winning challah recipe, the class uses pre-made dough so participants can focus on shaping, structure, and technique rather than mixing from scratch.
You’ll learn how to create a classic six-strand braid, a round holiday crown, and several additional shapes, such as knots and rolls. Chef Amy Lozier will explain how proper handling, tension, and proofing affect the final loaf, while sharing tips for achieving a beautiful bake every time.
Beyond tradition, you’ll discover why challah is one of the most useful enriched doughs to master. From sandwich and burger buns to savory-filled rolls, this dough adapts easily to both sweet and savory applications.
Whether you bake challah regularly or are looking for a dependable, impressive dough to add to your baking rotation, this class provides practical skills you can use again and again.
