About this Event

GOSPEL welcomes back another Tea Ceremony for our "Wellness Monday" event series.

Facilitator Eszter Toth hosts her hour-long Cha Dao Ceremony, a traditional Chinese ceremony using "Living Tea". The tea varietal she serves is called Little Red Sweetness (Xiao Chi Gan), picked from Huanggan Mountain - the highest mountain in the UNESCO designated Wuyi Mountains.

Doors 6:30pm | One-hour ceremony begins 7pm

The practice of Cha Dao, also known as “the way of tea,” is a sacred ritual rooted in ancient Chinese traditions. Originally employed by monks to enhance mindfulness and endure prolonged meditation sessions, this ceremony involves the use of plant medicine to foster a deeper connection with oneself, nature, and the profound aspects of life.

By allowing the tea leaves to guide us, we cultivate a profound inner connection that enriches our lives with heightened awareness and appreciation for the beauty around us.

What to expect during the Tea Ceremony:
We will be sharing 4-8 bowls of tea in a community setting with open hearts for an hour. As one sits in silence and meditation with the tea, they are encouraged to turn inward and explore the thoughts of their mind and heart.

The benefits of tea include:
• Boost Immunity
• Fight Inflammation
• Boost, Heart Health
• Lowers Blood Pressure
• Reduces Anxiety
• Increases, Alertness, and Awareness
• Improves Hydration
• High in Antioxidants

About the tea:
In ceremonial tea practices, we exclusively use Living Teas. These are organic, natural teas that have been cultivated in forests where the tea plants have coexisted with humans and the earth for thousands of years. These teas possess a vibrancy and energy that is palpable and deeply felt during the ceremony. We will indulge in a relaxing red tea called Little Red Sweetness (Xiao Chi Gan). Picked from Huanggan Mountain - the highest mountain in UNESCO designated Wuyi mountains, this tea is comprised of smaller, more tender leaves, lending distinctive sweetness with initial flavor notes of cacao and sweet potato.
