About this Event
"Grant me courage to serve others; for in service there is true life."
On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, FUSD students and community members will gather at Fresno’s historic Warnors Theater for a day of reflection, celebration, and learning. The program will feature inspiring speakers, student performances, art exhibits, and an essay competition highlighting the legacy of César E. Chávez.
Special guest, Andres Chavez, Grandson of César and current Executive Director for the National Chavez Center, will inspire students and share his knowledge and wisdom. Students will also hear from their peers, through the essay and speech contest.
Following the program, students and guests will join a symbolic march to the Adult Education Center, honoring the spirit of activism that defined Chávez’s life. The celebration will conclude with a garlanding ceremony at the school lobby’s bust of Chávez, reaffirming his enduring values of dignity, justice, and service.
This event proudly revives a longstanding tradition of teaching new generations about the struggles and achievements of the farmworker movement that continues to shape their lives today.
We want to thank all the supporters, partners, and sponsors who have made this event possible.
