Certified Scrum Product Owner Workshop
Agile product management is different from traditional project management. There are different processes, meetings, and artifacts, like the product and sprint backlog. Agile is also a different way of thinking. Instead of completing the entirety of a project before a single launch, Agile is about finishing a minimum viable product and getting user feedback to improve subsequent releases.
This AI-augmented Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) training is an immersion into the Product Owner role with hands-on activities using ChatGPT, teaching how to build products that customers love using AI, Scrum and Agile practices. No prior AI experience is necessary.
The Certified Scrum Product Owner training workshop benefits anyone whose role is to create and manage the product vision to completion. At the end of the Scrum Alliance CSPO 2-day workshop, participants are able to work the entire Agile product management process, from vision to deployment, using Agile concepts and practices.
*We understand that training is an investment. We will work with individuals on a case-by-case basis to determine a price suitable for both parties. We provide a price match guarantee for comparable classes in the Austin area. Email [email protected] for more information.
CSM or CSPO? Which Scrum Certification Should I get?
Getting your ScrumMaster and Product Owner certifications is really beneficial, particularly if an organization has decided that Scrum is the chosen vehicle for change and agility. Both the CSM and CSPO will give participants a solid foundation of Agile as an example of the empirical process and how it differs from traditional development models such as Waterfall. However, there are key differences between the two:
Take the CSPO if you wish to:
- Realize product vision in a more efficient and collaborative way
- Learn different and more effective ways to communicate product requirements (user stories)
- Become discovery-focused instead of requirements-focused
- Drive richer product discovery using story mapping
- Align the Scrum team more closely with product stakeholders and customers
- Better manage stakeholder expectations
Take CSM if you wish to:
- Champion the change from Waterfall to Agile and Scrum
- Improve your current Agile and Scrum knowledge
- Need a deep understanding of the Scrum Framework (events, roles, and artifacts
- Facilitate Scrum Events effectively
- Understand the responsibilities of a ScrumMaster and key techniques to be effective
- CSPO Certification Questions
Participants do not have to take an exam to get their Scrum Product Owner certification. However, they must complete 30-60 minutes of pre-work and participate fully in class which means not stepping out for long meetings or phone calls. At the end of the two days, our CST will submit the names of qualified participants to Scrum Alliance and Scrum Alliance will send the certificate via email.
What do I get with this class?

CSPO Learning Outcomes
Through a combination of immersive team-based learning, exercises, and real-world case studies, participants will learn:
Why Agile
Agile has risen in popularity in the last decade...why? This section will highlight why Agile is a business imperative in today’s age and how it will give organizations a leg up on the competition.
Agile Product Development vs. Traditional Waterfall development
Learn how agile is different and how you will need to think differently in this new environment.
Product Owner Roles, Responsibilities, and Skills
Learn about the PO role, how it fits into the Scrum framework, and how PO’s work with ScrumMasters and teams to execute product vision. We will also identify skills required for a great Product Owner.
Product Vision And Tailored Personas
What is the vision for your product? Do you have one? This section covers the critical role of product vision, how to create one that motivates the team, and how to articulate various user personas.
Product Backlog Creation and Refinement Strategies
This module covers how a product backlog is created, the difference between a product and sprint backlog, and how to keep the product backlog in working order through regular refinement sessions.
User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
Students will learn how to write clear user stories and acceptance criteria that communicates stakeholder requests into actual work. This section will also cover how to split user stories while maintaining the integrity of the product.
Estimation and Release Management
One common Agile misconception is that there is no estimation. This is simply not true, we just do so in an agile way. This section covers how to estimate user stories and to use these estimations to create and forecast product releases.
Cultivating a Product Discovery Mindset
True agility moves away from the notion that we know everything up front. A great Product Owner leads the team through continuous discovery of the customer's pains and needs. We will explore techniques for learning more about our customers and how to iterate to building the “right product.”
Experiment-Driven Development
What if we treated every requirement like an educated guess or a hypothesis? In this module, a fundamental shift in how we articulate requirements and accelerate learning cycles by running small experiments to validate or invalidate our assumptions as fast as possible.
