Are you currently working in the food industry or hoping to start a career in food service? Take the next step by becoming a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM)—a credential required by the Illinois Department of Public Health for managers of retail food establishments.
This certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), ensures that food service professionals are trained in the safe handling, preparation, and storage of food to reduce the risk of foodborne illness. Certification is valid for five years and must be renewed upon expiration.
University of Illinois Extension is offering a CFPM training course on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 9 AM to 3 PM, and Friday, Dec. 5, from 8:30 AM to 4 PM at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau, located at 210 W. Spring Street, Freeport, IL. Attendance on both days is required to qualify for the certification exam.
Pre-registration is required. A registration fee applies. To register, call (815) 235-4125 or visit go.illinois.edu/jsw.
