Ceremony dance party makes its debut at Bar Le Ritz on Friday, March 27th. The night moves through 80s alternative, post-punk, new wave, synth pop, coldwave, and dark wave — starting with touchstones like Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, The Cure, and New Order, and extending outward to Bronski Beat, Eurythmics, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Clan of Xymox, Cocteau Twins, Ladytron, Boy Harsher, CHVRCHES, Crystal Castles, Molchat Doma, and more.
At the peak of the party, Montreal’s own New Wave/Dark Wave band Ghost Love (https://soundcloud.com/ghostloveband)takes the stage for a special live performance, woven directly into the flow of the night. The short set is intimate and physical, blurring the line between live show and dance floor, and grounding the energy of Ceremony in its hometown roots. This is the first edition — come early, stay late, and be there for the beginning.
Ceremony fait ses débuts au Bar Le Ritz le vendredi 27 mars. La soirée traverse la musique alternative des années 80, le post-punk, la new wave, la synth pop, la coldwave et la dark dance — en partant de références essentielles comme Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, The Cure et New Order, pour s’étendre ensuite à Bronski Beat, Eurythmics, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Clan of Xymox, Cocteau Twins, Ladytron, Boy Harsher, CHVRCHES, Crystal Castles, Molchat Doma, et bien plus encore.
Au point culminant de la soirée, le groupe montréalais new wave/dark wave Ghost Love monte sur scène pour une performance live spéciale, intégrée directement au flux de la nuit. Le set se veut intime et physique, brouillant la frontière entre concert et piste de danse, et ancrant l’énergie de Ceremony dans ses racines locales. C’est la toute première édition — arrivez tôt, restez tard, et soyez là pour le début.
