In this upcoming workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind, functional tile trivet set into a pretty metal frame. Using stencils or drawing your own design, you’ll scratch into a layer of color to reveal the lighter clay underneath, creating beautiful contrast. You can design your own pattern or choose from additional stencils provided by the instructor. No drawing or pottery experience needed. If you can trace a shape or make a line, you will love learning this art form.
In this workshop, each participant will design and carve a 6x6-inch ceramic tile, then we’ll attach a metal frame to turn it into a functional, artistic trivet—perfect for your morning coffee mug, or as a handmade gift for someone special. The finished piece will measure approximately 8x8 inches.
