The Sandlot Radio Network Central Florida Showcase is coming to New Smyrna Beach in partnership with NSB Babe Ruth Baseball, Blacktips Baseball, and Cudas Baseball — featuring former professional player, longtime MLB scout, and baseball evaluator Tad Powers.

If you’re serious about baseball and want an opportunity to showcase your skills, compete, and get noticed by college and professional evaluators, this event is for you.
This pro-style showcase is built to help athletes:
⚾ Show their skills in a competitive environment
⚾ Gain valuable exposure
⚾ Perform in front of experienced scouts and evaluators
⚾ Learn what coaches and scouts are truly looking for
⚾ Build confidence and visibility for the next level
Tad Powers brings decades of professional baseball and scouting experience. After pitching professionally in the Orioles organization and making MLB appearances with the Cubs, Tad transitioned into scouting and player development, working with MLB organizations including the Cubs and Angels both domestically and internationally.
Over the years, he has evaluated and helped develop players at the youth, high school, JUCO, collegiate, and professional levels. His experience gives athletes unique insight into the tools, mindset, competitiveness, and presence that separate players and help them advance.
Players attending the showcase will participate in professional-style evaluations including:
⚾ 60-yard dash
⚾ Live batting practice
⚾ Defensive work & throwing evaluations
⚾ Pitcher bullpens
⚾ Home-to-first times
⚾ Catcher pop times
⚾ Broad jump testing
⚾ Live situational gameplay
