Centered Leadership: Tending Beloved Community and Leading in Systems

Every leader needs basic skills such as healthy communication, systems thinking, spiritual grounding and an understanding of the dynamics of conflict. Join the UUFP's Leadership Development Committee for Centered Leadership: Beloved Community, and we'll help you to develop these skills — and give you lunch!
These trainings will cover:
* how covenant is the center of UU faith;
* how our congregational polity works;
* how we can create strong, healthy communities;
* a deeper understanding of being a committed member of our congregation and the wider UUA;
* how being a member of a congregation is a laboratory for building Beloved Community
* the dynamics of the interconnection of human relationships in congregations;
* how congregations can develop ways of developing the collective creative and emotional intelligence of the members as a system;
* how your own sense of purpose and your centered presence can have a positive impact;
* how a shared sense of purpose and group emotional intelligence can unleash creative synergy;
* how to reflect on your own spiritual center; and
* how to develop some intercultural agility.
These are the first and second of three core leadership trainings from the UU Institute, and we are offering them across four sessions taking place on second Saturdays every other month from November through May.
November 8th: Being in Covenantal Community; Being in Congregational Community: Making Decisions; Community as a Spiritual Practice, Part 1; Participating in a Faith Community
January 10th: The Meaning of Membership; Community as a Spiritual Practice, Part 2; The Interconnected Web: the UUA and Beyond; The Congregation Is the Curriculum: Faith Development
March 14th: The Interconnection of Systems; What Is Your Purpose?; Leadership as a Spiritual Practice, Part 1; The Congregation as an Emotional System
May 9th: Leading in Systems; Leadership as a Spiritual Practice, Part 2; Anxiety and the Brain; You as a Centered Leader
