A development group has expressed interest in renovating and reusing the former Center Mall property (located at 42nd & Center).
As part of that process, the City is considering designating the surrounding area as a Community Redevelopment Area (CRA)—a designation that would allow the developer to apply for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) assistance.
The City’s study indicates the area is eligible for CRA designation, and they are now seeking neighborhood input before moving forward.
This meeting is your opportunity to:

The Center Mall in Omaha, located at 42nd and Center Streets, is recognized as one of the first fully enclosed, suburban shopping malls in the United States, opening in 1955.
