For the public meeting on September 16th we will be hosting a staff member from the Center of Birds of Prey (CBP) based in Charleston. They will be providing information on the services their facility provides through hands-on initiatives. The Center for Birds of Prey, generously provides operational support for the Center’s educational, medical, conservation, and research initiatives. We hope that your experience with us will inspire an appreciation for all wild birds and genuine concern for the diminishing habitat upon which they, and we, depend.The programs offered by the CBP offer students the unique opportunity to experience close encounters with some of the earth’s most powerful and majestic predators; the raptors. During these encounters, the students will learn not only about the unique adaptations of these remarkable animals that allow them to fly at speeds of over 150mph, hunt in complete darkness, and migrate thousands of miles one way every year, but also about their individual connectedness to birds of prey and the importance of these birds in our everyday lives.
