Lili Holland-Fricke is a british-german experimental cellist, music-writer, and improviser based in Manchester. Her music combines the many sounds of the cello with electronics and voice to create intricate songs, instrumentals, and improvisations. Inspired by artists like Ichiko Aoba, Mabe Fratti, Adrianne Lenker, and FKA Twigs, Lili seeks to weave together unusual textures and sounds, with words that evoke dreamlike images and feelings. For this concert at Samuel Worth, Lili will be combining her own songs with movements from Bach’s solo cello suite 6.‘Lili does things her own way by veering through the music industry with a knack for experimentalism and a confidence that comes from pushing boundaries in both her studies and her music. Manon McCoy is an experimental harpist, vocalist and electronic artist based in the North. She seeks to push the boundaries of the harp extending it live electronics, processed and found sounds. She creates expansive textural works through improvisation and processing of sounds. Her music draws from noise and experimental worlds and ambient and drone music.
She has performed across the UK including Lancaster Jazz Fest, NFOJAIM, Jazz at The Lescar and in 2022 she was the recipient of Sound and Music’s Francis Chagrin Award.
