Phil Differ’s brand-new comedy play - “Celtic Da’s”is coming to a The Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath!
On Thursday 16th April
Starring Raymond Mearns & Bruce Morton
Pat and Danny - 2 lifelong Celtic-supporting pals now in their seventies are the heart of this hilarious, sharply observed play. These two grumpy diehards live in the past, see the world only through green-and-white tinted glasses, and always find a way to complain – no matter how their team performs. They are, in every sense, what’s known as “Celtic Da’s.”
But when Pat suffers a health scare, his obsessive devotion to Celtic suddenly wobbles, sending shockwaves through their friendship. Danny, baffled and outraged, struggles to understand the change. What follows is a darkly comic journey as the pair dissect not just football, but their politics, dreams, fears, and ultimately their transition from young and gallus into fully-fledged Celtic Da’s.
The show premiered at The Glasgow International Comedy Festival in March 2025 and Critics are already raving:
“Brilliant, with an even better twist at the end than The Sixth Sense!” – Tam Cowan
“Outstanding Performances” – Billy Sloan
Sharp dialogue, biting humour, and a storyline that blends comedy with heart, Celtic Da’s is a must-see for football fans, theatre lovers, and anyone who’s ever known a diehard supporter who just can’t let go!
