About this Event
This concert serves as a fundraiser in support of our young cellists - dedicated, aspiring artists whose hard work deserves both recognition and encouragement. Proceeds will help provide essentials such as quality strings and bow rehairs… and, perhaps, the occasional well-earned boba tea.
Two cello quartets, both crowned with praise,
Won VOCE regionals in their days.
For the first time in MTAC’s story told,
Both reached the State Finals—brave and bold.
Now face to face, their paths unite,
On May the 23rd, they meet to fight.
Not with swords, but sound and art—
Each with fire, each with heart.
Come, gentle audience, watch and see,
And choose the victor—thy voice holds the key.
The winner claims the box office bright…
The loser gets a cookie (a very big one) that night.
The acclaimed cello quartets LINC and Cellissimo, premier ensembles of the RusLan Conservatory, take the stage in a program spanning Baroque elegance to jazz brilliance. Winners of the 2025 and 2026 Music Teachers Association of California VOCE Competitions, as well as the 2026 RusLan Conservatory Competition, they represent a rare convergence of artistry and distinction.
This evening unfolds as both concert and contest: the audience will be invited to cast their vote, and at the close, one ensemble will be crowned victor - claiming the entire box office. The other, with admirable grace, shall receive a most generous consolation: a truly ginormous cookie.
