Join us for the next session of Celebrations of the World, a series where kids explore global traditions through lively stories and hands-on fun. Each month, we spotlight a different festival or celebration from around the world and bring it to life through interactive read-alouds and kid friendly discussions that spark curiosity. This session celebrates the Madeira Island Flower Festival, a beloved spring tradition from Portugal’s Madeira archipelago. Known for its floral parades, intricate flower carpets, and “Wall of Hope” created by children, the festival honors renewal, beauty, and the arrival of spring. It typically takes place in late April or early May, filling the island with music, dancing, and blossoms in every color imaginable. Come out and join us for our celebration at the library where kids will even get to make some cheerful paper daisies. We’ll provide all the materials they’ll need.
