Join us for the next session of the Celebrations of the World series at your South Branch Library. It’s a series where kids can learn about festive occasions hosted around the world through an interactive storytime. Meetup as we learn how people across the globe celebrate different times of the year through lively read-alouds, colorful pictures, and interactive discussions. At this session, we’ll learn about Holi, a Hindu festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, love, and the triumph of good over evil. It’s best known for joyful gatherings where people throw colorful powders, dance, and share food together. Come out to learn about Holi, and also you’ll get the chance to make a fun Rangoli craft too (all materials supplied). Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form that involves creating intricate designs on the floor using powder, but we’ll be doing so with paper.
