A community hike to commemorate the induction of Pearson South Remnant Great Black Swamp Forest into the Old-Growth Forest Network.About this Event
Join us as we celebrate Pearson South Remnant Swamp Forest, a rare habitat in northwest Ohio. We will celebrate with a ceremony in the Packer Hammersmith Center and head out to hike in the forest for a 45 minute loop walk to see the oldest and most enduring trees in the region. Pearson Metropark preserves one of the last remnants of the Great Black Swamp which was a vast, once-impenetrable forest that covered much of northwest Ohio.
