He spent time at a printing press in Seattle, worked for the railroad, but most of all thrived in the logging industry. He eventually became a self-employed log-truck driver and tree faller. He was also an excellent mechanic who could fix just about anything cars, trucks, motorcycles, chainsaws, lawnmowers, golf carts, and small engines of any kind. He simply loved to tinker.
Ron was a true sportsman. He loved spending days at the beach digging clams, picking oysters, shrimping, and fishing. But his greatest passion was hunting elk, deer, sheep, bear, cougars, just about anything with four legs that was legal.
There are countless good things to say about Ron. He was always smiling, always laughing, and always ready to sit and BS for hours, sharing stories that could fill an evening and then some. He was an amazing human being who made friends wherever he went and was always the first to offer a helping hand.
