November 12th: Celebration Cakes
Description: There’s always a good reason to bake a cake, but Celebration cakes go beyond your standard slice. Hallmarked by multiple layers, fillings, and detailed decorations, Celebration cakes are a labor of love worth every crumb.
What You’ll Learn: We’ll discuss the all-important science behind making a sturdy yet light cake and choosing the right syrups and fillings to complement. We’ll cover some classics sure to please a crowd, including Creme Diplomat and Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Then you’ll put your new-found piping skills to the test by decorating your own mini layered cake!
Our Mission: Let our cooking classes inspire you. Work with our chef/instructor to learn how to prepare delicious recipes, hone essential techniques, and put some "heart" back into cooking. All levels of experience welcome! We offer private classes, private parties, and a bounty of niche gourmet food and beverage products! NOTICE about cooking classes:
- Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above.
- You will work with other students.
- Hands-on classes are limited to 7 to 10 students.
- You will sit or stand, cooking and working for most of the class.
- Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back.
- No refunds on classes, but feel free to gift a friend or family member.
- Students receive a coupon good for the day of the class for 10% off in-store purchases on all food, beverage, kitchen, and table top products.
- All recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc.
If you have a food allergy, please check with us before registering for a class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made.
