The Soltau Concert Series at Green Trails United Methodist Church is proud to present a special concert celebrating the enduring genius of Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the most influential composers in western music history. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Sunday, January 25, at 2 p.m. at Green Trails Church located at 14237 Ladue Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
This inspiring afternoon, under the direction of Andrew Pulliam, Green Trails’ Director of Music and Worship, will feature a rich variety of orchestral works, vocal selections and solo pieces showcasing Bach’s profound artistry and spiritual depth—all performed by accomplished St. Louis-area musicians. Performers will include members of The Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gateway Festival Orchestra, and the In Unison Chorus of the St. Louis Symphony. Their collaboration will highlight the vibrant musical community of the region while honoring a composer whose music continues to move audiences centuries after it was written.
Known for music that is both intellectually masterful and deeply expressive, J.S. Bach’s works span moments of grandeur, intimacy, devotion and joy. This concert will offer listeners a chance to experience the breadth of Bach’s musical voice—from powerful orchestral textures to expressive vocal writing and virtuosic solo works.
The Soltau Concert Series was founded in late 2019, but held its first concert in January 2022, due to the pandemic. The series is dedicated to offering high-quality musical experiences that inspire, educate and uplift the community. This celebration of Bach’s work continues that mission by pairing exceptional performers with music that speaks across generations.
