Celebrating NTA:
BEYOND BUILDING
Dear lovers of contemporary performing arts, scenography and theatre making. Welcome to Norwegian Theatre Academy’s last days as part of Østfold University College, to an event where we celebrate the past and prepare for its future elsewhere, beyond the building.
We will open the doors to all the spaces we are about to leave and fill them with two days of new performances from current and former students, open workshops, exhibitions, installations, food, live streams from around the world, karaoke, and a grand party!

Join us in the building that we’re leaving, into the future!

The event is free and open for everyone, but parts of the program demand registration.
Registration for workshops by NTA alumni students is below in the detailed workshop descriptions. No registration links = no registration needed.

The Body of Many Voices – Dancing the Farewell
Nela H. Kornetová
DANCE STUDIO

Registration: https://forms.gle/RtFgLZXY4CUhBQ9p9
Join me for a sweaty, tender, and wildly alive gathering where we move, sound, remember and dream together. This open workshop invites you into The Body of Many Voices, my practice rooted in the organic relationship between body and voice, developed since 2016 at Norwegian Theatre Academy. As we dance our way through memories, past sorrows, future pleasures, and everything the body has been quietly holding onto. Together we will warm up flesh and bones through humming, voice massage, improvisation, and radical movement; we will club with energies and spirits, let sound vibrate through us, and sweat out what no longer needs to be carried. The workshop draws on the philosophy of Radical Care: charged by Radical Softness, Radical Intuition, Radical Pleasure, Radical Trust, Radical Surrender, and Radical Dialogue. We will attempt to create a space where listening means relating, where control dissolves into collective rhythm, and where your inner weirdo is not only welcome but absolutely necessary. This is also an informal, embodied farewell to NTA or anything you need to say goodbye in this given moment. A shared, sweaty goodbye celebrated through movement, voice, and presence. Come as you are, in clothes you can move and possibly wreck. This workshop is open to anyone who dares to work intensively with their body, voice, and creativity.
Nela H. Kornetová is an independent performance maker, performer, choreographer and director based in Norway. She is an artistic leader of T.I.T.S. performance group and works with themes that the audience can relate to instinctively, aiming to create atmospheric performances that explore the borderlines of live art forms using the body, visuals and sound. After graduation at JAMU (CZ, 2010) and Norwegian Theatre Academy (NOR, 2013), she was awarded DanceWEB 2014 scholarship (Impulstanz, Vienna) and she received the Workstipend for young and newly established artists (Arbeidsstipend for yngre / nyetablerte kunstnarar) between 2020 – 2022 and Workstipend (Arbeidsstipend) between 2024 – 2025 in Norway. She had received Thalia Award for the best performer in Alternative theatre in 2022 and the Theatre News Critics Award (Cena Divadelních Novin) in 2020 for a performance Badman by T.I.T.S. As a co-leader of Direct Action Theatre she organized, choreographed and participated multiple dance interventions into public space around Norway and Czechia focusing on collaboration with codial minorities and festivals, merging dance world with activisim. She was director and choreographer of the black box piece based on the public interventions: “Serve and Protect” (2024)

invisible monuments - or how to say goodbye
Katrine Leth + Mari LB Kamsvaag + Marina Popović
DANCE STUDIO

Registration: https://forms.gle/MzEK9cWGEstD12NJ8

The surroundings at NTA carry so many memories, despite its sterile expression. When those bricks, paint, walls and doors are now taken away from us, how can we absorb and collect the treasures, ghosts, and simply leave the spaces?
In our workshop we will create a ritual for the farewell of NTA's surroundings. Perhaps an unhappy love letter, a miniature cemetery, a song, a radical yell, or a silent gathering. We will explore what is means to create visible or invisible monuments for - in our context - our Mothership, dearest NTA.
Katrine Leth and Mari LB Kamsvaag have through their joint practice, researched how to create spaces for complex and sorrowful states of being. They met at NTA, and have been working together since they graduated in 2016. In this 1-hour workshop they will together with performer Marina Popovic (also-alumni-and-classmate) share their practice. Together with the participants, we will create a ritualistic monument for saying goodbye to NTA’s “walls”.
Grief is a difficult thing to approach, and it can have many states, expressions and emotions. Therefore we invite you to bring the unexpected happines, the silly but yet beautiful nostalgia, the hardcore grief or simply a quiet goodbye.
As R.E.M so tender sings in their song “Oh My Heart”:
This place needs me here to start
This place is the beat of my heart
Oh, my heart
Oh, my heart
(Oh, my heart)
Oh, my heart
Oh, my heart
(Oh, my heart)
Katrine Leth is a performer and theatre director based in Copenhagen, educated at the Norwegian Theatre Academy (HiØ). With a background in dance and sports, she works in the span between feminism, care and crisis, often with strong audience involvement. Together with Mari LB Kamsvaag, she founded Propaganda Machine in 2019, where they create maximalist performances in non-traditional spaces.
Mari LB Kamsvaag is a set and costume designer from Modum, based in Svelvik. She is educated at the Norwegian Theatre Academy (HiØ) and the University of Oslo. In her work, she examines the relationship between people, materials and nature, often with a focus on sustainability and sensory spaces. She is part of the duo Propaganda Machine and has shown work at Oerol Festival, among others, as well as in collaboration with Witch Club Satan. She received the Norwegian State Artist Scholarship in 2022 and 2025–26.
Marina Popović is a performer, director and filmmaker based in Nesodden. She is educated at the Norwegian Theatre Academy (HiØ) and has a master's degree in Cultural Memory Studies from NTNU and Met University Prague. Together with Ida Hestnes, she forms the performing arts duo Hestnes / Popovic, which works with memories, storytelling and audience participation in sensual and immersive performances.

I Remember
Fernanda Branco
LOUNGE
A remembrance ceremony facilitated by Branco. Together with the participants, a collective ritual where everyone is invited to say out loud what they remember about and from NTA. The intention of the ritual is to create a common act of collective remembrance.
The ceremony is recorded, and will be stored in the NTA Living Archive Project (LAP) for the future.
Fernanda Branco is a performer, gardener and poet from Brazil, living in Norway. Her work is within performance, where movement and voice are woven together, and also extends into video and installation. Branco has a Ph.D. in Artistic Research from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Performance from the Norwegian Theatre Academy. Her artistic practice and research investigate the agency of the encounters between body and environment, with a focus on ecological thinking. Her discourse interweaves fact, fiction, speculative narratives, theory and poetry.

The Embodied Voice
Netanel Seri
DANCE STUDIO

Registration: https://forms.gle/5UU5EodWAsqYzJiQ6
Welcome to a joyful exploration of your voice! Together, we will be in the act of listening and projecting sound with a deeper understanding of ourselves.
The 1,5 hours will consist of listening meditation, embodied warm-up, individual practice as well as choral singing in both bel canto (beautiful singing) and expanded techniques such as throat singing.
The workshop are tailored to function with different technical levels and wishes. Join us with loose clothes and a water bottle.
The exercises derive from Netanel’s own inquiry as well as the experts he has met, such as Sxip Shirey, Øystein Elle, Guri Egge and Electa W. Behrens (NTA), Ulrik Barfod and Fia A. Sandblad (Roy Hart), Michael Norlind and Ditte Von Berkeley (Laboratory Theatre) and Helena Hedman (Classical singing).
Netanel Seri is a Swedish voice artist, singer and actor. During his bachelor's degree at the Norwegian Theatre Academy, he developed a deep interest in the collective and spiritual roots of polyphonic folk music. Today, his repertoire ranges from Georgian folk music and Sacred Harp songs to opera arias. His artistry develops with each project, where music and theater are intertwined in a meeting between tradition and contemporary aesthetic expressions.
Recently, he has been active in Norway and Sweden, and has performed at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Atalante, Østfold Teater and Black Box Teater, with solo performances at Röda Sten Konsthall and Konsthallen Lokstallet. Netanel also directs Gerlesborg Global Lab, that helps emerging artists deepen their artistic research and build international networks.

Mobility as an Artistic Method: A Participatory Seminar
Alejandro Chellet
DANCE STUDIO
Registration: https://forms.gle/Q5UsTFjSeoJqT3ep9
The workshop proposes a participatory seminar that introduces themes from its ongoing artistic research on mobility as an artistic and choreographic method. Through a short presentation, followed by joint discussion and writing exercises, participants will reflect on how artistic practices move across institutions, geographies, and infrastructures of work.
The session will function as an open laboratory where alumni and other participants can respond to and further develop the research through their own experiences of artistic migration, collaboration, and institutional transformation. The seminar is conceived as a shared space for physical exploration and reflection, inviting the NTA community to come together to examine how artistic knowledge continues to travel and reorganize itself even after the academy’s lifespan.
Alejandro Chellet (b. 1990, Mexico City) is a Mexican interdisciplinary artist, researcher and curator whose practice explores the intersections between food systems, rituals, hospitality and environmental politics. With a master's degree in performance from the Norwegian Theatre Academy, their artistic research investigates radical hospitality as a method of collective practice, social engagement and ecological thinking. Working across performance, installation, video and participatory formats, Chellet treats food and communal gatherings as living archives and political acts. They are founders of Casa Viva Gallery in Mexico City and co-founders of Rosekill Art Farm in New York and the agroecological cultural platform Huerto Roma Verde.
