Join us at Lithgow Library on Saturday 7 March 2026 from 10am for Women’s Words Celebrating International Women’s Day with a free morning tea and talk by Central West author Kim Kelly. In Australia, women are the often under-sung and definitely underpaid heroes of our literature – crafting and publishing the stories that shape our cultural identity as Australians. Kim Kelly reflects on a life working in the female-dominated book industry, on writing novels about the women who inspire her, and on changing track midlife to academic research that explores what our words mean. Kim will also be sharing details of her latest, locally-set novel – Dust and Wonder – which takes us into the history of Jenolan Caves.
Join us for a celebration of women’s words, and be inspired to write your own story.
