About this Event
At the heart of S.T.R.O.N.G. is the implementation of Celebrating Families!, an evidence-based program designed to break cycles of substance misuse by promoting healthy communication, teaching coping skills, and improving family bonds.
We’re excited to share that our Celebrating Families! workshops will run from May 5th through August 29th across multiple sites. This important program supports families impacted by substance use and helps build resilience through group-based sessions, shared meals, and meaningful connection.
This initiative recognizes the vital role family dynamics play in both addiction and recovery. Without targeted support, many families struggle to rebuild trust and stability. S.T.R.O.N.G. ensures families have the tools they need to heal together and grow stronger.
Workshop Highlights:
- Open to adults, their children, and their families (Adults can also attend alone)
- Free family meal provided at every session
- Access to both Peer Support and Family Support Specialists with lived experience
- All services are free of charge
- Registration is required for participation
- All participants will receive a certificate of completion
- Each county will host a graduation ceremony to celebrate participants
Attendance:
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions for the full experience, but they are also welcome to attend as many sessions as they are able.
Weekly Schedule:
- Tuesdays – Wilmington Recovery Café | 1:00–2:00 PM (Lunch included)
**All sessions will also have a virtual participation option. Attendees can attend at any location.
Incentives:
Participants will receive a raffle ticket for every session attended. The more sessions attended, the greater the chance to win. At the end of the program, two $150 gift cards will be raffled off - one in each county.
