Celebrating Art Within Reach at Pines Village Celebration Center

Please join Art Barn and Pines Village to celebrate Art Barn’s third year of “Art Within Reach,” an arts program for older adults that encourages lifelong learning and introduces art-making to adults of all skill levels in free community class programs.
The reception is free and open to the public and will include refreshments, conversation with students, staff, and instructors, and a presentation by artist and lifelong learner Bonnie Zimmer. Learn more about the program and its impact on our community at this free event open to all. The Village Art Gallery will be featuring the work of resident and artist Norma Armstrong.
Art Within Reach was started in 2024 with the support of a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission provided by the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies in partnership with E.A. Michelson Philanthropy. Art Barn was one of 12 organizations selected to launch a pilot program to train staff and instructors and develop classes to serve older adults in the Porter County area. In partnership with Pines Village, Porter County Public Library Services, and Porter County Aging and Community Services, Art Barn is proud to be providing three classes throughout 2026 with support from the Porter County Community Foundation.
