Celebrate a half-century of investment with Greater Southwest Development Corp.... building our vision of a THRIVING SOUTHWEST CHICAGO!
About this Event

‘When people talked about neighborhoods deteriorating, they attributed it to race. That was the first thing [Greater Southwest] challenged. Deterioration is not due to race; it’s due to economics.… So we put together an economic-development plan.’

Founding director Jim Capraro in Race by Studs Terkel

Join us for our 50th Anniversary Celebration

In 50 years we've helped leverage more than $600 million in investment on the Southwest Side. --and it shows in our 59th Street and 63rd Street business corridors, high homeownership rates, and strong and diverse communities. We're gathering to celebrate the people who got us here and the work ahead!

We’ll have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as we reconnect with old and new friends from across our communities and citywide. Our purpose is to celebrate the contributions of so many to our work over the years and lift a glass to our accomplishments and goals for the next 50!

Order tickets & sponsorship via Eventbrite, or download our sponsorship form and bring or mail the form with payment to our office if you prefer to place your order offline.
