About this Event
We're celebrating Your Mother and Mother Earth at the third annual GTB Bioregional Eco Market.
You'll find a specially curated selection of products and gifts, local foods, hard-to-find seedlings you can plant in your own yard, hands-on eco experiences from local schools, and inspiring stories. As you wander the market, you can also win free gifts! Bring your whole family to this special "bioregional" event.
What's a bioregion? It's our life place – our amazing place on the planet that has its own unique features and story. We're in the GTB (Greater Tkaronto Bioregion), which stretches across the length of the Oak Ridges Moraine and out past the Niagara Escarpment. You can even get a custom Heart of the GTB Tee that celebrates our bioregion (proceeds support GTB regeneration and education work in the community).
The GTB Bioregional Eco Market is hosted by the Markham Museum, in the Transportation Hall. Rain or shine, you'll be comfortable exploring all the Market Tables.
Here's a taste of just some of the Market Tables…
- Cookies, squares, pies, and other treats from Reesor's Farm Market.
- Maple syrup and organic cider from Heartwood Farm & Cidery.
- Jams and jellies, dill pickles, stewed tomatoes, and fresh vegetables from Mount Wolfe Farm.
- Seedlings grown by the Markville Secondary School Eco Club, ready to plant with tips for healthy soil.

You'll leave with treasures in your bag, new ideas and tips, and a lot of inspiration!
Bring your whole family. When you arrive, you'll receive a Market Story Passport. Collect stories from each Market Table to win free gifts!
