About this Event
Happy Women’s History Month 💖 Let's celebrate women’s strength and resilience through movement.
Women’s access to fitness has evolved massively over the years, and we have always created our own spaces for movement and being together. Danielle Friedman’s book Lets Get Physical is a fascinating look at the evolution of women in exercise culture, and a dive into how women have shaped it in meaningful ways. From jogging and Jazzercise to Jane Fonda, we’re loving loving learning how women have parlayed physical strength into other forms of power.
As we evolve, our physical and mental needs change. From our teens, through to perimenopause and later years, our bodies ask for different modalities to support changing hormones, bones, and brains. That’s why a consistent yoga practice is something to nurture and cultivate. It deepens our relationship to ourselves, allowing us to hear our body’s messages and respond with skill. Consistency in our movement is far more important than intensity. Empowerment is quiet and personal. It looks different at every life stage, and that is beautiful.
