As we embrace the spirit of the upcoming season, we invite you to join the Durham Community Chorale, directed by Melody Zentner, in celebrating peace and joy through music. Along with our new accompanist, Ramon Brito, we are excited to welcome guest oboist Bo Newsome, an Instructor of Music at Duke University.Our program will feature a special commission from North Carolina composer Sherry Blevins titled “The Sun Will Rise Again,” along with songs of peace such as “Hanukkah Wish” and Gabriel Fauré’s timeless “Cantique de Jean Racine.” We’ll also share uplifting pieces of hope like “Veni, Veni, Emmanuel” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” as well as joyful favorites such as “Sing We With Gladness” and “Sleigh Ride,” alongside other beloved holiday classics in both traditional and modern arrangements.
