Celebrate Jane Austen's Birthday with us! You can enjoy this program at the library or virtually at home. The Zoom presentation begins at 6:30 pm.Commemorating Jane Austen’s 250th birthday on December 16, 2025, join author, former UK resident, and Anglophile Claire Evans for a look at Austen’s final, unfinished manuscript Sandition and its path from family heirloom to a fully imagined costume drama, airing on PBS. Learn about the real-life people and locations that informed Austen’s last work before her untimely death at age 41, as well as how the seeds of her ideas came to life on the small screen. We'll listen to Claire virtually via Zoom at our watch part at the library. Enjoy tea and sweets, and craft a simple keepsake to bring home. Crafts and refreshments will begin at 6 pm, the Zoom portion will begin at 6:30 pm. Registration is required.
