Celebrate International Yoga Day with a holistic journey to empower your health, mind, and well-being. Hosted by Heartfulness Charlotte in partnership with the South County Regional Library, this special series provides a seamless transition from physical movement into deep, restorative relaxation.
Each session is a complete 90-minute experience combining the benefits of physical yoga and heart-centered meditation.

🧘 What is Heartfulness Meditation?
Heartfulness is a set of effective, simple, and practical experiential practices centered on the heart. It is designed to help quiet the mind, regulate emotions, and cultivate inner strength.
Studied and proven to be effective in reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, and enhancing overall wellness, our guided Heartfulness session for this event consists of two simple steps:
1. Heartfulness Guided Relaxation: A step-by-step physical relaxation technique (from toe to head) that helps release deep physical tension and prepares the body for stillness.
2. Heartfulness Meditation: A simple, silent meditation where we focus our attention on the source of light within the heart to experience natural inner peace, clarity, and emotional balance.
No previous experience is required—our certified trainers will guide you through every step of the process!
🕒 The 90-Minute Experience Breakdown
* 5 mins: Introduction & Welcome
* 40 mins: Active Yoga Session (Led by local yoga instructors)
* 40 mins: Heartfulness Meditation (Led by local Heartfulness meditation instructors — includes introduction, guided relaxation, meditation experience, and Q&A)
Note: The yoga and meditation trainers will swap places seamlessly—attendees will remain in their spots to transition directly into the meditation.
🕒 Schedule & Session Styles
Please register for the specific session time and style that best fits your preference:
* 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga + Heartfulness Meditation
- Led by Lakshmi Kumar (From Lifetime Fitness)
- Designed for all experience levels. An energizing, structured floor-based yoga flow focused on bringing movement and breath in sync to build deep physical focus.


* 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Chair Yoga + Heartfulness Meditation
- Led by Viji Suresh (Viji's Yogabloom)
- Designed for beginner to intermediate levels. An accessible, gentle session utilizing library chairs to bring ease and alignment to the body.


* 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Therapeutic Deep Stretch Yoga (on mat) + Heartfulness Meditation
- Led by Rhonda Walker (Tone Your Temple )
- Designed for all experience levels. A slow, restorative floor session designed to help you reduce joint point, loosen tight muscles, and release physical stress.


💡 What to Bring & Important Details

* Age Requirement: This wellness series is designed for participants of ages 15 and older.
*Booking Limit: To allow as many different community members to participate as possible, please register for only one of the three session styles.
* Continuous Participation: To receive the full benefit of the event, all attendees participating in the yoga will continue directly into the meditation session.
* Yoga Mats: Please bring your own yoga mat if you are attending the 10:00 AM or 3:00 PM sessions. Chairs will be provided for the 1:00 PM session.
* Arrival: Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session start time to check in and secure your spot.

🎟️ Admission: Free of charge. Registration is strictly required for each specific time block to ensure comfortable room capacity spacing.
