Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Month at St. Mark's Square!
Join us for a vibrant celebration featuring Xiuhcoatl Danza Azteca, a traditional Aztec dance group with deep roots in San Francisco's Mission District since 1993!
Founded by Miguel Martinez, Irma Alvarado Martinez, and their family, this group embodies the spirit of their ancestors through ceremonial dances that bring healing and hope. Now led by Miguel Martinez Jr. and Gabriela Rojas-Martinez, Xiuhcoatl Danza Azteca continues to honor and celebrate the rich traditions of their tribe.

· Learn about the cultural significance of these ceremonies, which celebrate the rich history of Indigenous peoples.
· This group has performed at notable events, including the FIFA World Cup opening ceremonies, Carnaval SF parade, and even in the film La Mission.
Important Note: Incense will be used during the event, but only outdoors on St. Mark's Square. No incense will be used indoors.
