Join us at the Wickham Library for the launch event of East Hartford’s Inaugural Poet Laureate, Elizabeth Thomas. Elizabeth is a published writer and educator who provides programs that celebrate the feel of your pen across paper or your voice through a microphone. As Poet Laureate, her focus will be the creation of writing communities for all ages. She’s passionate about inter-generational events, so expect to see upcoming opportunities to mix and mingle while enjoying both written and spoken word. If so inclined, bring a short (1 page or less) poem to possibly share. Five readers will be randomly drawn from a hat throughout the event. Also expect some ‘world famous’ invitees to share the mic! For adults and teens. This event is co-sponsored by the East Hartford Commission on Culture and Fine Arts.
