Celebrate Diwali – The Festival of Lights with Third Street Music School!
You're warmly invited to join Third Street Music School on October 19th from 1-3 PM as we celebrate Diwali, one of the most joyful and widely celebrated festivals in South Asia.
Observed by over a billion people worldwide, Diwali honors the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil — a message that resonates across cultures and communities.
Rooted in Hindu tradition, Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile and his victory over the demon king Ravana. It is also associated with the goddess Lakshmi, who symbolizes wealth, prosperity, and new beginnings. Celebrated over five days, families illuminate their homes with oil lamps (diyas), share sweets, exchange gifts, and gather in gratitude and joy.
It’s a time for reflection, renewal, and togetherness — and we look forward to sharing the spirit and beautiful cultural tradition of Diwali with our Third Street community!
Event Highlights Include:
- Henna art by jolie Henna Entertainment and Afreenz Mehndi - Celebrate the artistry of henna with two female-owned businesses offering beautiful, intricate designs. Whether it’s your first time or a cherished Diwali tradition, get your hands adorned with stunning, natural henna creations.
- An interactive dance performance by the renowned Ajna Dance Company – Get ready to dance! Members of Ajna Dance Company will lead an interactive performance full of energy and joy, inviting everyone to learn South Asian dance moves together — no experience needed!
