The Celebrate Birmingham Hometown Parade and Party marches into town on Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 4 p.m! For more than 40 years, this treasured tradition has added to Birmingham's sense of community and offered friends and neighbors a chance to gather along the parade route and enjoy watching local organizations, clubs, community officials, performers and more.The parade begins at 1 p.m. just north of Willits and travels south on North Old Woodward Avenue, west along Maple Road and finally south on Bates Street before ending at Shain Park for a free after party in Shain Park.
PARTY IN SHAIN PARK
After the parade, all are invited to a party in Shain Park with free activities and entertainment until 4 p.m.
PARKING INFORMATION
Parking is free on Sundays but road closures for the event will limit street parking. Visitors are encouraged to park free of charge in the municipal parking structures at 333 North Old Woodward Avenue, 180 South Chester Street or 333 Pierce Street.
