Cedar Basket Weaving Workshop facilitated by Gail Stoller.Workshop Participants will have the opportunity to learn traditional cedar weaving with Gail Stollerk, Wei Wai Kai Nation.
Born in Campbell River, Gail wasn’t allowed to learn her traditional teachings. In the spring of 2016 Gail started learning traditional cedar bark weaving. Always drawn to arts and crafts, she found peace and comfort in her creations. Since learning, she has mastered cedar baskets, cedar roses and cedar hats. She finds great pleasure in passing on the teachings she has received and showing others the beauty in creating from true traditional ways. This is an excellent opportunity to learn traditional weaving techniques.
Each participant will receive:
All supplies needed to complete the project
Clear step-by-step verbal and visual instruction
A supportive and encouraging learning environment
There will be a 30 min break for lunch. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch and any snacks they may want. Tea, coffee will be provided.

Time: 11:30 am to 4:30 pm
Cost: $57.50 +tax (includes all materials)
Location: Museum at Campbell River. Please note the workshop will take place in the foyer of the Museum.
