Speaker bio

Dr Kostas Maronitis is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations. He is the author of two books: Robots and Immigrants (Bristol University Press, 2022) and Postnationalism and the Challenges to European Integration in Greece (Palgrave, 2017). He has published widely on topics including immigrant detention and human rights, protest networks and citizenship, the politics of fear and victimhood, sovereignty and global markets, and the intersections of automation and immigration. Kostas is an expert contributor to the UK Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology (POST) and his opinion pieces and essays have been featured in the New Statesman, Friedrich Ebert Institute, ETERON think tank, Re-Shaping Work, Documenta Exhibition Daybook, and Yorkshire Evening Post.
