Location & Route
We will launch at 10am from Oakhurst Nature Park (244 Riverbend Road, Jacksonville, NC 28540) and paddle to Jacksonville Landing (135 S Marine Blvd, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
This route is approximately 2 miles one way along the Blue Creek Blueway.
Participants may choose to end at Jacksonville Landing, or paddle back to the launch point for a 4–4.5 mile round trip.
Logistics
One-Way Paddle: If you plan to stop at Jacksonville Landing, please arrive at the launch point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start. This will allow time to unload your gear and drive your vehicle to Jacksonville Landing. George Howard will provide a shuttle back to the launch site before the trip begins.
Gear Rental: For those who do not have their own equipment, George Howard with On Shore Surf Shop is offering a special CCRW rental rate of $20. This includes a kayak or paddleboard, personal flotation device (PFD), leash, and paddle. Rentals will be delivered to the launch point and picked up at the end of the trip. What to bring
CCRW will not be providing boats, paddles or PFDs so please come prepared with everything you will need on the water.
