This is a guided therapy group for individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, focusing on proven effective treatment approaches to improve mental health and well-being.This group is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In a nutshell, ACT aims to help us create a life that is rich and full of meaning, while helping us cope with the struggles and challenges that inevitably come with it. Our group will be small, with 4-8 members, and will work to foster an environment of respect, trust, courage, openness and understanding. We will invite the group to engage in various activities and exercises during sessions as well as provide suggestions for practice between sessions.
Our first session will be on Monday, September 23, from 6-8pm, and the group will run weekly for 8 weeks, skipping the Thanksgiving holiday.
