First Wednesday Reader Series presents fiction writers Catherine Gammon of Pittsburgh & Abby Vandiver of Cleveland. Open mic to follow. Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00pm at the Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. This reading will be upstairs and fully accessible. ASL interpretation by Meagan Albani. The First Wednesday Reader Series receives support from POP! Art Books Culture. Catherine Gammon’s books are the collection The Gunman and the Carnival and the novels The Martyrs, The Lovers; China Blue; Sorrow; and Isabel Out of the Rain. A native of Los Angeles, Catherine taught in the University of Pittsburgh’s MFA program throughout the 1990s and returned to Pittsburgh in 2016.
Abby Vandiver, who also writes as Abby Collette, is an internationally bestselling author who has had success in both self-publishing and traditional publishing. Abby has penned more than thirty books and short stories. Abby has a bachelors in Economics, a master’s in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor. A former lawyer and visiting college professor of Economics, she resides in South Euclid.
